Jamey M. Bachman is the Project Manager for the Career Horizons Project (CHP). Ms. Bachman is responsible for supporting the CHP in the planning, implementation and tracking of a federally funded project which includes leading the team, administrative support, grant management, and guiding multiple individuals to complete a fast-paced project for individuals with disabilities impacted by long-COVID. The primary objective of Ms. Bachman's role is to lead and support principal investigators and to ensure all planned grant activities occur seamlessly and within specific time frames.
Prior to serving in this role, Ms. Bachman served over 12 years in community and job development working people of all ages seeking volunteer and work experience. She spent the first five years of her career serving as the Executive Director of Volunteer Starkville, Inc., a nonprofit volunteer center serving nonprofit organizations with volunteer recruitment and management resources and helping local individuals and groups engage in the community through service. Ms. Bachman then spent the next seven and a half years serving as an Employment Coordinator for Mississippi State University's ACCESS program, a 4-year comprehensive postsecondary transition program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As an Employment Coordinator, Ms. Bachman was responsible for fostering growth in employability and career management skills among ACCESS students along with helping them gain valuable work experience and credentials that would aid them in securing competitive integrated employment (CIE) after graduation.
